ST:O looks like it is going live Q1 (My bet is early Q2) of 2010. While I am inclined to want to get into Global Agenda . . . there is some uber cool stuff here in the WOW equivalent established mythology and the idea of being a captain (everyone is a captain with their own ship) with the bridge crew the equivalent of a WOW Hunter's pet that you level up.
O. M. G. i'm so all over this.
ReplyDeletealtho... hmmm... beyond the laser fire.... it is all yak yak yak?
I don't think its just yak yak yak. It's a bit different in its construction from WOW.
ReplyDeleteYou have your bridge crew (along with extras not assigned for particular missions) and you can "beam down" to a planet or board ships for what are like instances. If you don't have a party then all the party positions are filled by your bridge crew pets. However, if you have joined with folks they swap out for bridge crew pets. So . . . like running Blood Furnace and you only have three other players so a pet fills in in the fifth slot. Does that make sense?
You captain various types of ships that are kind of like player classes. There are military ships which are like tanks and science vessels which are like . . . err . . . not tanks. Your bridge crew pets are also representative of various classes you'd find in other games or WOW.
The other thing is something called the Gemini or Genesis system. O.K., so what it does is create permanent in planetary system as you explore. So, basically the game will create content as players explore.
